“Where Love and Justice Meet” – artwork by former prison inmate
Monday, December 6, 2010 at 3:50PM
Ray took an Alpha course in the Spring of 2007 while he was in prison.
During that time he was touched by God and began doing a Bible Study in his dormitory, where there were 29 other inmates - some of whom were not sympathetic to the Christian faith.
One of his dorm mates came to us (Alpha leaders) and told us, "I knew Ray on the street and he is now a different, changed person." Praise God for His provision of Ray's "heart transplant".
Ray’s artwork won 3rd prize for sketches in a worldwide contest sponsored by Prison Fellowship International for inmates and ex-offenders. This was in association with PFI's quadrennial convocation in 2007 attended by over 1,000 prison ministry delegates from 128+ countries. The next PFI Convocation will be in late June 2011.
Recently we heard that Ray is happily living with his family in Ontario. He is living crime-free and intends to be a good role model for his children.
Submitted by David Atkins, Ontario Prison Alpha Leader since 2003.
